I have a white and jadeite colored (pattern alternates triangles of white and jadeite) serving plate with a detached pedestal and cannot find anything remotely like it on the internet. I believe it may have been a 1940′s wedding gift to my in-laws. Can you help give me some leads on where to find more info/value for it? Unfortunately I don’t have a picture of it as it’s stored in my in-law’s cellar. Thanks!
Hi,
Hard to find pieces like you have can be hard to find on the net. I’ve found “sometimes” if you go to eBay and put something like jadeite dishes in search and then go to the advanced link on the right. From there a little down the page you can check completed auctions and it will pull up auctions that either sold or not. And sometimes you can find rare pieces and what they sold for. The hard to find pieces won’t last long on eBay and this is the reason looking in completed you may get lucky and get some information.
You can jump over to eBay by clicking on one of the pics above.

I have 40 pieces of mid to late 1950′s jadeite. How do I find out how much they are worth, as I would like to sell them? I also have 3 swirl mixing bowls, also Jadeite.
thank you,
HI,
Look at the answer below about how to use eBay to price pieces. For your local market I would call a couple of antique stores or antique consignment places. Usually there will be one person that has seen what the other vendors are selling and what they get. Also the collectors drop in all the time looking for certain pieces for themselves or clients and you can gauge a market by that also. Also the book I was talking about in one of the posts had references on prices * you would want the most recent.
